In a commanding position on top of a hill, Buma Hills Safari Lodge is just 55km south west of Kariba Town, overlooking the beautiful and vast Kariba Lake. The lodge boasts panoramic vistas from the bar, pool, dining deck and the spa as well as the stunning back drop of the Zambezi escarpment.

This luxury lodge is ideal for those just starting out or ending a safari in Zimbabwe; surrounded by wildlife yet with the necessary luxury facilities of a spa, comfy bed and iconic swimming pool.

  • 10 Standard rooms and 10 premium rooms
  • Swimming pool
  • Children over 10 allowed
  • Great for combining wildlife with the luxury of a larger lodge

Style: A large lodge with the intimacy and relaxing atmosphere of a small one. Rooms have fantastic views and there are plenty of activities to take advantage of.

Setting: 55km west of Kariba Town, over looking Kariba Lake in the Matusadona National Park.

Accommodation & Facilities: Each of the 20 rooms are front facing with views of Lake Kariba. Rooms are en-suite with tiled bathrooms including both a bath and shower; there is also a mini bar or tea and coffee station and air conditioning. Standard rooms have a veranda; Premium Rooms have an even more amazing view form their balconies – allowing guests to watch both the sunrise and the sunset!

For large groups there is a houseboat a few minutes transfer away.

The fantastic infinity pool, terrace cocktail bar and wellness spa all have spectacular vistas over the lake and its game rich shoreline. There is also a lounge with internet facilities, wildlife DVD’s, reference books and games. The TV lounge has a snooker table and satellite TV. There is also a boardroom that can hold 10 or a conference room for 60.

Laundry is done on a daily basis, weather dependent.

Dining: This is done either in the ‘fine dining’ area or in the ‘alfresco dining’ area overlooking the lake.

Activities: Wildife excursions included 4WD game drives, wildlife boat cruises and walking safaris with a professional armed guide. You can also track black rhino in the nearby Matusadona National Park. Join a fishing trip in the search for a giant tiger fish, enjoy a cocktail cruise, visit the nearby crocodile farm or even sip a glass of wine in an underground hide, just an arms reach from the wildlife lapping up water from the water hole or take advantage of the fantastic birding in the area.

Or you could just sit back and relax all day in the pool…

Child Policy: Children over 10 are allowed, we do not recommend this lodge for children, however it is probably the most child friendly in the area with things to do between wildlife excursions and a great swimming pool.
