Oliver's Camp, Tarangire National Park

Oliver's Camp

This luxurious camp is set in the remote south of Tarangire National Park and offers guests the opportunity to fully immerse themselves in this breath-taking environment. Luxurious accommodation and exceptional guides really enrich the safari experience at Oliver’s Camp, where multi-day walking safaris and fly camping offer a rare opportunity to visit undiscovered areas of the national park.

The camp is ideally located to encounter large concentrations of elephants, big cats and other animals around the stunning Silale swamps and in the trademark baobab country of Tarangire National Park. The camp design and atmosphere provide a classical bush experience, and after a day of safari activities, guests can reflect and relax on their private veranda or in the lounge/library tent.

  • No swimming pool
  • Children over 6 years are welcome
  • Great for photography and total safari immersion

Style: Luxurious, beautifully furnished tents in a remote setting.

Setting: Located in the remote south of Tarangire National Park, guests in Oliver’s Camp enjoy a privacy and exclusivity rarely found inside a national park. The camp overlooks a diverse landscape, taking in the Ngorongoro highlands, the Great Rift Valley, the Lame Manyara region and Tarangire National Park itself.

Accommodation & facilities: The eight guest tents are appointed with
beautiful wooden furniture, luxurious textiles, and en-suite bathrooms with gorgeous warm showers underneath the Tarangire sky.

In the evening, guests can relax or read in the lounge and library tent, or drink sundowners at the fireplace, enjoying superb views of landscape and sunset.

Dining: Excellent cuisine is served at Oliver’s Camp.

Activities: The range of activities on offer is unique for a camp inside a Tanzanian National Park. Off-road driving allows guests to get closer to the action, and at Oliver’s camp, the depth of knowledge and experience of the naturalist guides makes the experience one to never forget.

Walking safaris are the specialty at the camp and can be combined with fly camping to allow guests to discover the most remote parts of Tarangire. Accompanied by armed rangers, guests learn about nature, wildlife behaviour and animal tracks and observe the animals undisturbed behaviour.

The fly camp is typically booked as part of a walking safari or as a completely private night away from the main camp, allowing guests to sleep under the Tarangire stars, surrounded by animal sounds, and is an adventure, not luxury!

Child Policy: Children over 6 years old are welcome. All ages are accepted if the camp is booked exclusively.

Responsible tourism: “Asilia aspires to be a truly leading company in the industry when it comes to responsible tourism and its impact on conservation and community development. Not leading in terms of its marketing talk, but rather leading in terms of how we behave” Asilia Camps
