Yala Village

This stunning nature resort borders Yala Wildlife Sanctuary and the Indian Ocean, giving a combination of both jungle and beach experiences; to fully appreciate this stunning setting, the village’s top floor bar have 360° views of the forest and ocean.

Accommodation is in luxurious air-conditioned chalets, located in beach or jungle settings and furnished with TVs, mini-bars and en-suite bathrooms. Guests can expect to see elephants and other wildlife from the comfort of their chalets, or can request a jeep safari and venture deeper into the jungle.

Style: A luxury nature resort

Setting: Bordering Yala National Park, spanning ten acres of jungle and miles of pristine beaches, Yala Village is a nature resort of untamed beauty located at the southernmost tip of Sri Lanka.

Accommodation & facilities: Yala Village houses six beach chalets and 50 jungle chalets. The rooms are designed and furnished to provide the best comfort and all modern facilities despite being lost in the jungle.

From the inland jungle chalets, guests can step out into the jungle to watch the elephants walking by, or the illusive leopard sunning itself on the rocky outcrop close by. The beach chalets are equipped with a private veranda that opens out to a view of the Indian Ocean.

Each room is furnished with a large queen sized bed, Cable TV, telephone with IDD, well-stocked mini bar, electric kettle and tea/ coffee making facilities. Spacious en-suite bathrooms are complete with hair dryers and complimentary toiletries.

The swimming pool, which overlooks a nearby lake, provides much needed relaxation after a dusty safari in the jungle. Other facilities include a fine dining restaurant and bar. In addition, Yala village has Wi-Fi internet access, an on-call doctor, laundry service, safety deposit boxes, left luggage service, foreign exchange services and room service. Parents may also choose to benefit from the baby sitting service.

Dining: The main restaurant at Yala Village offers a variety of both eastern and western delicacies. There is a village bar and observation deck situated on the top floor of the hotel with serving drinks with a 360° view of the forest and the Indian Ocean.

Activities: Wildlife excursions, bird watching and heritage tours are some of the activities on offer at the Yala Village. Safari Jeeps and tours are available on request.
