Surrounded by three nature reserves-Ritigala, Minneriya and Kaudulla, Cinnamon Lodge is set amongst lush vegetation, offering guests the opportunity to cycle, stroll or enjoy a picnic in its grounds.

Originally a transit stopover for visitors to Sri Lanka's east coast, Cinnamon Lodge has since evolved into a resort of its own. The Lodge is beautifully decorated, with architecture based on the ancient Ritigala Forest Monastery in Habarana. This is an excellent and luxurious base from which to visit the Cultural Triangle with Sigiriya, (25 minutes away) and Kandy, Anuradhapura and Polonnaruwa (around two hours away).

Setting: Set amidst 27 acres of natural habitat, rich in foliage and lush vegetation, Cinnamon Lodge lies 170 kilometres north-east of Colombo and is within easy reach of The Cultural Triangle.

Accommodation & Facilities: Accommodation is in two-storey chalets which follow the traditional architectural style of Sri Lanka; columns and verandas, cooling terracotta floors and clay roof-tiles are featured throughout. Each chalet has an en-suite bathroom and secluded veranda or balcony overlooking the lake or garden.

Recreation and entertainment abound here, with boating, tennis, badminton and bird-watching available, as well as occasional live music in the evenings. Facilities include a large swimming pool.

Dining: The restaurant at Cinnamon Lodge has a reputation for producing some of the best buffets on the island with an imaginative range of dishes, including a very good selection of Sri Lankan food.
