Cape Town and the Cape Peninsular Vacations – The most southerly city in Africa, Cape Town is a must for any vacation to South Africa. With Table Mountain towering over 1000 meters above, this has to one of the most picturesque cities in the world, especially if viewed from Bloubergstrand across the bay. Surrounded by mountains, white sandy beaches and vineyards, Cape Town has so much to offer the traveller. From wine tasting, trekking, historical tours, shark diving, swimming with penguins, watching southern right whales playing in the bays to just strolling through the waterfront – Cape Town has it all.
Garden Route Vacations – Winding along the east coast of South Africa from Cape Town up to Port Elizabeth, the Garden Route follows the coast through small fishing villages, coastal lagoons, coastal forests and some amazing scenery where mountains meet the ocean. Hermanus along the coast is a favoured spot to watch the Southern Right Whales as they play in the bay and often approach the rocky shore getting to within a couple of meters of the shoreline. Titsikama is a forested National Park with deep gorges and coastal forests making for good hiking.
The Karoo Vacations – Springbok, ostriches and arid mountainous scenery is the norm here. The Karoo is an arid area north-east of Cape Town and is famous for it ostrich farms where the large birds are bred for the meat, feather and leather industry. Oudtshoorn is the main town where most of the farming occurs and with the Cango Caves close by this is a popular stop enroute to Cape Town.
Kruger National Park Vacations – close to 19,000 KM2, the Kruger National Park is South Africa’s largest National Park attracting over a million visitors a year. The park is easily accessible from Cape Town and Johannesburg by plane. The reason this park is so popular is because of its ease of access as well as its great wildlife viewing and vast selection of camps and lodges. Bordering the Kruger National Park are numerous private game reserves which offer the same, if not better game viewing, but without the crowds.
Sabi Sands Private Game Reserve Vacations – Along the southern border of the Kruger National Park is the private game reserve of Sabi Sands. Within this reserve are numerous private concessions each with a number of lodges that cater for all styles of safaris. The game viewing on these private concessions is fantastic with regular “Big Five”, cheetah and wild dog sightings. Mala Mala is reputed to be the best place in Africa to see leopard with 99% of guests seeing at least 1 leopard over a 2 night stay.
