Phinda Forest Lodge consists of large, private suites built on stilts to give the affect of floating through the unique sand forest. The floor to ceiling glass walls allow you to see tiny duiker (antelope) as they dart between the trees. Each of the 16 suites has a luxurious ensuite bathroom and private viewing deck and there is a rim flow pool at the main communal area. The Pan-African food is often eaten on the decking overlooking a large grassy plain or in the boma, lit by dozens of candles and lanterns.

Style: A charming and luxurious lodge, exuding charm and sophistication.
Setting: Phinda Forest Lodge is not far from the Indian Ocean Coastline in the Phinda Private Game Reserve, an area abundant with a wide variety of wildlife; about a 3 hour drive (there is a mini bus run from the lodge) or a 1 hour scenic flight from Durban International Airport.
Accommodation & Facilities: The 16 suites are all stilted, glass encased and set among tall torchwood trees, fully immersing you in the eco system. Each one is simply decorated using Zulu artefacts and natural fabrics giving them a minimalistic and calm feel. The private bathrooms are en-suite with a shower, bath and double basin, beds are extremely comfortable, lined with irresistible fabrics and they even have their own personal bar!
The dining and lounge area is very luxurious and there is an expansive viewing deck as well as a large swimming pool.
Dining: Delicious Pan-African cuisine is served in the open air dining deck (boma), where monkeys may play in the branches, birds sing in the trees and wildlife grazes on the plains beyond.
Activities: There are game drives, interpretive bush walks and riverboat/canoe trips can be enjoyed at no extra cost. For those wanting a little more, there is the option of paying additional fees to join a scuba safari or night turtle drive on the beach, go deep sea fishing, horse riding on enjoy a cultural experience.
Child Policy: Children of all ages are welcome however under 5’s may not take part in game drives. Children between 5 – 11 may take part in game drives at the manager’s discretion.
