Grootbos Lodge
Grootbos has 2 lodges and a villa. All suites at Grootbos Lodge have a private lounge and fireplace for those mild winter evenings. Each of the airy rooms has an ensuite bathroom and private wooden decks with fantastic sea views. Winding pathways take you through some of the last Milkwood forests in the world, while strolling between your suite and main lodges. Grootbos offers eco-friendly accommodation with various conservation and community projects in place.

Style: The 3 accommodation styles are all luxurious. The garden lodge and Forest lodge both offer free standing suites.
Setting: In the Grootbos Private Reserve, just a 2 hour drive from Cape Town.
Accommodation & Facilities: Both the Forest Lodge and the Garden Lodge have luxury free standing suites (16 at Forest and 11 at Garden) with stylish and contemporary designs. Bathrooms are en-suite (Forest Lodge also has outdoor showers) and suites include their own lounge with a fireplace and a mini bar. They both also have private terraces with fantastic views.
The main areas at both lodges have great restaurants, a bar, lounge and swimming pool. The Forest Lodge also has a conference centre, whereas the Garden Lodge, being more family suited, has a playground, stables, library and an Ecological Interpretation and Research Centre.
The villa is a little different, with 6 suites in the building, all with fantastic 180 degree views over Walker bay through walls of glass. There are 2 lounge rooms here, a private dining room, media room, private pool, bbq area, kitchen and an extensive wine cellar. The villa comes with a private guide, chef and butler to cater to your every whim throughout your stay.
Dining: Ingredients used in the menu are locally grown, fish is only used when caught from the local harbour. Grootbos has its own garden growing organic vegetables and herbs as well as an extensive wine list.
Activities: On offer in the area is whale watching, flower safaris, visits to caves and beaches, scenic flights, wine tours, birding tours and, for the very adventurous, shark cage diving!
Child Policy: The Garden Lodge is more family orientated, with a “kids kitchen”, playground and stable to explore as well as treasure hunts, children of any age can stay here. Children must be over 12 to stay at Forest Lodge.
