Marlin Lodge

On the south western shore of Benguerra Island, the second largest in the Bazanito Archipelago, Marlin sits, unobtrusive. Hand built from Mozambican hardwood with thatched ‘jecca’ roofs, the lodge is surrounded by sand dunes, fresh water lakes, savannah and acacia woodlands, off the coast of Mozambique.

Declared part of the National Park in 1971 and named after the chief, Benguera Island has over 200 species of fish and 100 species of coral and is an ideal spot for diving and snorkelling, or even just relaxing and soaking up the tranquil atmosphere of the lodge.

Location: Marlin Lodge is located on the southern shore of Benguerra Island off the coastline of Mozambique.

Accommodation & Facilities: Marlin Lodge consists of 17 beautiful chalets with 3 Executive Suites and 14 luxury beach chalets. The luxury beach chalets are set just above the beach line and within only a few short steps of the beach...60 metres squared of interior chalet space and then your own with private veranda! Soft lighting and slate floors make this impossible to resist. Facilities include four poster beds, en-suite bathrooms, air conditioning and ceiling fans, seating lounges, private walkways to the beach and private verandas...

The main lodge has a welcoming reception lounge, a reading lounge with a small library and board games, an open-air dining room and a cocktail lounge. The swimming pool is 11 metres long surrounded buy sun loungers in the shade of Ilala palms and beach umbrellas. The lodge also features a business centre with a laptop and internet facilities.

Dining: The sublime food combines traditional Mozambican cuisine with  twists from Asia and Portugal, incorporating some of the history of the lodge. Meals can be enjoyed in the barbecue area or by the pool. For those who wish for a more private experience, meals can be arranged on your private veranda or on the beach under your own private gazebo.
