Highlights of Kenya Holiday - Amboseli, Masai Mara and Indian Ocean - From £2,300pp excluding international flights
Day 1
On arrival into Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (own flight arrangements and early morning arrival necessary). You will be met by our representatives at the airport and, leaving Nairobi behind, drive south to Selenkay Conservation Area (a fou
r hour journey). Arrive at Amboseli Porini Camp in time for lunch. Following afternoon tea, you will be escorted on a walk by Masai warriors to a village to get an insight into their fascinating culture and way of life. You will return to camp late in the afternoon where you will be able to freshen up before enjoying a tasty dinner under the stars!
Amboseli Porini Camp is located within the exclusive Selenkay Conservancy, in the Amboseli eco-system, an important wildlife dispersal area and rangeland for wildlife moving out of Amboseli National park. Amboseli National Park is famous for its elephants and spectacular views of Kilimanjaro; when the clouds reveal their treasure.
Overnight: Amboseli Porini Camp – This small and intimate camp is designed on the lines of a traditional luxury safari camp but offers many more comforts than was originally available to pioneering safari goers of earlier years! The camp has nine spacious guest tents, comfortably furnished and with en-suite bathrooms including shower, wash basin and flush toilet. Tents have solar-powered electric lighting (L/D)
Day 2
Awake to the dawn chorus of birds, and, after an early breakfast, drive through the bush on a private track into Amboseli National Park. Spend a full morning game viewing and watching the elephants close up! Following a picnic lunch in the park, you will return to camp where you will be able to relax. In the evening you will go on a game drive in Selenkay Conservancy, stopping for a sundowner at a scenic viewpoint. As the sun sets you will set off on you night game drive to look for nocturnal animals such as aardvarks, serval cats, caracals, bat-eared foxes, African wild cats, and much more.

Day 3
Following a short early morning game drive and breakfast you will be met and driven to Nairobi where you will stop for lunch at the famous Carnivore Restaurant. After lunch you will be transferred to Wilson Airport for your flight to the Masai Mara where you will be met and driven to Mara Porini Camp. The afternoon will be spent on your first game drive in the Masai Mara! After a sundowner you will continue your game drive in search of the nocturnal animals!
The Mara Porini Camp has recently been set up in the exclusive wildlife conservancy of Ol Kinyei, one of the most beautiful wilderness areas in the Serengeti-Mara eco-system. The Masai Mara is famous for its big cats and the annual migration of vast herds of wildebeest and zebra.
Overnight: Porini Mara Camp – This camp has six guest tents sited in the shade of Yellow-barked Acacia trees along the banks of the Laetoli, a permanent spring within Ol Kinyei. The tents are spacious and each has an en-suite bathroom with flush toilet and safari shower. The camp offers the experience of real camping in the bush in an exclusive private wilderness but with all the comforts required by disce
rning travellers. Food is excellent with home baked bread, fresh salads and high quality meals prepared by the camp chef (B/L/D)
Day 4
Explore all that this wonderful area has to offer on game drives in search of the resident plains game, predators and a host of other wildlife. The Mara is Kenya’s most famous wildlife reserve and is excellent for lion and cheetah.
Following an early breakfast you will set off into Masai Mara Game Reserve, for a full morning of game viewing on the lookout for the Big Five! Following a picnic lunch in the park, you will return to camp where you will be able to relax prior to your late afternoon game drive in the Ol Kinyei Conservancy. Here you will stop for sundowner at a scenic viewpoint before continuing back to camp on a night game drive looking for nocturnal animals. There is also the option of a Balloon Safari and Champagne Breakfast in the Mara, please ask for more details (cost not included).

Day 5
Early this morning you will have the opportunity to head out on an early morning bush walk in the Conservancy. You will be escorted by Masai warriors and a safari guide, and will learn about the Maasai people, their way of life as well as more about the animals, birds and plants of the Mara. After breakfast you will be transferred to the airstrip for your scheduled flight to the Kenyan coast, via Nairobi, and on to the historic Swahili island of Lamu. You will be met at the airstrip and transfer by boat to the delightful Kipungani Explorer which overlooks a deserted 14km beach on the south-western tip of the island.
Overnight: Kipungani Explorer – This lovely beach lodge has 14 spacious and secluded chalets that sit above the soft white sands of Kipungani Bay, Swahili for ‘the place of fresh air’. Shaded by the palm trees that line their 600m beachfront, the chalets are constructed entirely from local materials, with mkeka matting floors and makuti thatch roofs woven by the residents of neighbouring Kipungani Village. The large interiors are a picture of rustic simplicity, with giant king-size beds and all furniture handmade from local mangrove and palm woods. Days 6, 7, 8
Spend three full days relaxing beside the Indian Ocean, or participate in a variety of activities offered by this fabulous beach lodge. Not only can you enjoy the white sandy beach and warm blue waters of the Indian Ocean, the Kipungani Explorer has a host of other activities to offer including windsurfing in the sheltered Lamu channel, creek or deep sea game fishing, sailing aboard their Arab dhow, bird walks in and around the property, visits to Lamu’s historic mosques, markets and museum (additional charge) and day trips to the ancient ruined forts of Manda Island (additional charge). You can also visit the nearby Kipungani Village who the lodge actively work with and support; half of the lodge’s staff are from the village. Alternatively, why not sit back and relax with a good book.

Day 9
After a relaxing morning you will be met and transferred to Manda Island for your 16.00hrs flight back to Nairobi, arriving Wilson Airport at 17.45hrs in time to catch an evening flight home (B/L)
