Porini Lion Camp is situated along the banks of the Ntiakatiak River, a seasonal river with some permanent hippo pools near the camp. Olare Orok Conservancy is just a short drive from the Mara Reserve and some of the key big cat areas, with good prospects of seeing lion, cheetah and leopard. The camp is also an ideal base from which to experience the million strong wildebeest migration.
Porini Lion Camp has just 10 luxury guest tents, giving an initimate feel and the camp offers a real ‘in the bush’ experience. The tents are very spacious and have private verandahs along the length of the tent, providing a secluded and private area for guests to relax and enjoy the beauty of this African wilderness all around. Each tent has en-suite bathrooms with flush toilets and hot showers. The food is excellent, with freshly baked bread and high quality meals prepared each day by the camp Chef.
Whilst staying at camp guests can enjoy morning, evening and night game drives in custom built 4x4's in the conservancy. A full day’s game drive can also be taken in and the Mara Reserve along with a picnic lunch. Sundowners at scenic viewing points are also included as well as escorted bush walks with Maasai warriors and safari guide, where you can get an insight into the Maasai people, their way of life and also learn more about the animals, birds and plants of the Mara.
Activities: Game drives in open vehicles, bird watching, escorted wildlife & cultural walks with Maasai guides, sundowners and night game drives.
