Loldia House

Loldia House

Loldia House is sat on an old ranch, set amongst acacia and wild fig tree on the western side of Lake Naivasha and is still owned by the same family as 100 years ago. The main house was built during the Second World War and is set on lawns leading down to Lake Navaisha. In addition to the main house there is now Loldia Cottage and a third cottage, accommodating more guests but with the same level of luxury, privacy and freedom to roam.

Loldia House is a great place to enjoy the inspiring beauty of Kenya.

  • 9 Rooms spanning Loldia House and 2 separate cottages.
  • No Swimming pool

Style: relaxing and homely, colonial style house.

Setting: Loldia House in on a 6500 acre ranch ideally located for access to the soda lakes of Nakuru, Elementeita and Bogorio where the flamingos flock on mass to feed. Guests are free to wander or ride horse back through the ranch alongside the impala and waterbucks that freely graze.

Accommodation & facilities: Loldia House itself has 4 rooms, Loldia Cottage has another three, and the third cottage offers 2 rooms with kitchen facilities – ideal for families. Each room is en-suite and decorated colonial style, has a comfortable sitting area with a fireplace and beautiful views. One of the cottage bedrooms has a wonderful, private outdoor bathroom for a real nature inspired experience.

There is a great seating area in the garden, where guests can watch the hippos graze in the evenings and the sun peer over the horizon in the mornings.

Dining: Locally caught fish and shrimp from Lake Naivasha are the stars of the menu. Meals are served in the colonial style dining room or under the trees with a marvellous personal service from "probably the world’s best butler"!

Activities: There are game drives and night game drives with the resident naturalist and birding out on the lake or at the ranch with the resident bird watching guide. 4WD excursions can be arranged to the soda lakes to see the flamingos and to see the dramatic gorge and hot springs at Hells Gorge; both are also good for game viewing on the way.

Loldia house also provides tennis courts on site and there is an 18 hole golf course near by.

Child policy: Children of all ages are welcome.
