Set on a private stretch of Galu Beach, Kinondo Kwetu is an intimate luxury resort, well away from its neighbours and any interruptions. The peaceful and tranquil resort is run by a Swedish family and has a real homely feel to it, with accommodations for just 38 guests at a time. With all that beach to itself, there is always somewhere secluded to hide and relax…

There are different styles of accommodation, each unique and personalised, for the guests to chose from. As well as 2 swimming pools, one deep enough for guests to practice their scuba diving.

Style: A small luxury beach resort, family run with a strong emphasis on privacy and it being your ‘Home Away from Home’.

Setting: On a private stretch of Galu Beach, about 1.5 hours drive from Mombasa.

Accommodation & Facilities: There is a variety of accommodation on offer here, depending on how many of you there are or your occasion. 3 of the cottages have en-suite double bedrooms with a veranda looking out over the sea, the 4th has a connecting single room with a separate entrance and shared en-suite bathroom. Cottage 5 has 2 floors; upstairs there is an en-suite double, downstairs there is a double with a connecting single sharing a bathroom. Both of the floors have separate entrances for privacy.

Mama Taa is a large house with 2 en-suite double rooms, complete with sea views and a veranda, 3 doubles with connecting twin rooms and a suite called ‘Andersson’s Room’, which is perfect for honeymooners or families with small children.

The main house is called Mama Tina and has 1 double and 2 single rooms. There are stables onsite, 2 swimming pools, a shop, boathouse and a yoga house.

Dining: Both lunch and dinner are 3 courses, comprised of local ingredients including fish caught that very same day by the local fishermen. Lunch can be served in the boathouse, under shady trees or on the beach. Evening dinner can be served in a variety of locations, under the stars, in your suite or even in the gardens.

Activities: Kinondo Kwetu offers a wide range of activities as well as a perfect spot to sit back and do absolutely nothing. Scuba diving is available (PADI) for beginners to advanced, snorkelling, sailing and canoeing/kayaking as well as water skiing and wakeboarding are also available. Guests can take advantage of the stables and go horse riding down the beach, or in the sacred ‘Kaya’ forests, play tennis or head out on a boat excursion.

Other activities can be arranged such as deep sea fishing, kite surfing, quad biking, cultural visits and golf. Please contact us for more details about costs etc.

Responsible Tourism: Kinondo Kwetu works with the local Kinondo Village, recruiting many of their staff from here. The Kinondo Kwetu Trust Fund has been established and helps with providing health care to the villages and supports the education of the local children.
