Accommodation & facilities: Guests can choose from a tent in a secluded position, overlooking the plains and nearby hills, or tents set more closely together – suitable for families and friends. Triple and quad tents are also available for families and groups. All accommodation is comfortable furnished and includes en-suite bathrooms.
The spacious Nyati Tent acts as the camp lounge; it has comfortable seating, a library, board games and is decorated with local crafts. Low wattage lighting is supplied at the camp 24 hours.
Dining: Freshly baked bread and pastries, and delicious, healthy African and international dishes are served alfresco. Meals can be taken at the communal table with the camp’s hosts, or guests are welcome to dine alone.
Activities: Early morning and late afternoon game drives operate in customised 4x4 vehicles. Superbly designed for photographers, the 4x4 fleet is open-sided with open roofs; cameras can be rested on the roof, with supplied beanbags, or on the armrests lower down, to which platforms may be mounted for larger lenses.
Walking safaris with an armed ranger can be arranged, as can cultural visits to Masai villages and the Kicheche Community Project’s schools.
Child policy: Children of all ages welcome at Kicheche Mara Camp.
Responsible Tourism: Kicheche's Community Project supports two local schools and during term time it is possible to pay a visit to either school.
