Governors Private Camp can only be booked by one group or family at a time, meaning a truly private, uninterrupted and personal tailor-made safari experience. Sat with stunning views overlooking your own little bend in the Mara River, popular with thirsty game and hungry predators. As you are the only guests, the personal attention is outstanding. As much as possible has been done to keep the camp as authentic as possible, from using traditional colours and artefacts to the sense of adventure sparked by sleeping under canvas.
Governors Private Camp is set in the shade of the surrounding forest where you can find rare birds, such as Trogans and Turacos. This unique area is great for watching the great migration and there have been prevalent big cat sightings here.

Style: A completely private tented camp, with all your creature comforts and an authentic safari atmosphere.
Setting: On a beautiful bend in the Mara River in an area of unrivalled wildlife flow.
Accommodation & Facilities: The 8 canvas tents are large and comfortable, sleeping up to 16 people. Each tent is raised on a wooden platform with an extended veranda and features handmade furniture. Tents feature wide windows so you can take advantage of the amazing setting and are en-suite with flush toilets, hot bucket showers and a basin.
Room service is on request and hot drinks are served with a wake up call in the morning. Rooms are either twins or doubles, on request. Laundry is included.
Dining: Food is delicious and cooked by the camps executive chef. Bush breakfasts, lunches and dinners can be arranged as well as champagne meals, there is also the option of tailoring your own menu with the chef. All meals and drinks are included apart from champagne which is at an extra cost.
Activities: Included in the price are 3 game drives per day in custom built safari vehicles, game walks in a private concession area adjacent to the Masai Mara Game Reserve and trips to the local Masaai village, school or a charity and community support initiative. All driver guides are knowledgeable and experienced.
You can also book a balloon safari or an overnight excursion to Mfangano Island Camp at extra cost – book in advance for guarantees.
