Set in the heart of Africa’s Great Plains, the Masai Mara boasts 1,672 square kilometers of un-spoilt wilderness, giving guests at Governors’ Camp access to some of the best game and bird-viewing in Africa. This is a fantastic camp from which to experience the Great Wildebeest Migration between July and October. Located near to the Mara River, the camp affords spectacular views across waterways and expansive plains.

Style: A rustic camp set in prime game viewing territory.
Setting: Governors Camp is in a magical setting, nestled in the forest, occupying a cliff top position. Located right in the heart of the best game viewing area of the Masai Mara, the camp overlooks the meandering Mara River, its waters teeming with bird-life, hippo and crocodile.
Accommodation & facilities: Built under a canvas roof, Governors Camp has 37 tents, some lining the riverbank, with uninterrupted views over the meandering Mara River and sweeping plains of the Masai Mara. All tents have en-suite bathrooms with hot and cold running water, flushing toilets and a veranda.
The open bar and dining tent have fantastic views over the Mara River and the open plains of the Masai Mara, allowing guests to continue wildlife viewing as they dine or relax with a drink.
Dining: Delicious meals served in the dining tent. Tea and coffee is served in the tents with the morning wake-up call. Room service is available on request.
Activities: Game drives operate in 4x4 vehicles, with guided walks, bush meals and balloon safaris also on offer. Local village visits, excursions to Lake Victoria excursions and spa treatments are also available, some of which may incur extra cost.
