Amboseli Porini Camp
Amboseli Porini Camp is located within the exclusive Selenkay Conservancy, in the Amboseli eco-system, an important wildlife dispersal area and rangeland for wildlife moving out of Amboseli National park. It is a small and intimate camp designed along the lines of a traditional tented safari camp but offers many more comforts and luxuries than was originally available to the pioneering safari goers of earlier years! The camp has 9 spacious guest tents sited among shady Acacia Tortilis trees, they are comfortably furnished and with en suite bathrooms including shower, wash basin and flush toilet. Tents have solar-powered electric lighting.
All games drives are in specially designed open-sided Landrover 4 wheel drive safari vehicles. Whilst in the conservancy and the national park you can spot all of the better-known big game such as elephant, lion, cheetah, giraffe and zebra as well as several less common species such as caracal, African wildcat, civet, gerenuk, lesser kudu and striped hyena.
Whilst staying at the Amboseli Porini camp guests can also go on escorted walks with Maasai guides where they can learn about how the various indigenous animals and plants are used by the community and how their way of life is intertwined with their surroundings. Guests are also taken to a local Maasai village where they can experience a little of traditional Maasai village life. Sundowners with views of Mt Kilimanjaro and night game drives are all part of the experience at Amboseli Porini Camp.
Activities: Game drives in open vehicles, bird watching, escorted wildlife & cultural walks with Maasai guides, sundowners and night game drives.
