Having gained independence in 1963 Kenya has lead the way with a stable economy founded on agriculture. In the year of independence, Kenya had a small tourism industry which had developed from the Big Game hunters in earlier years, this developed rapidly during the 80's and 90's to such an extent that the various parks became overcrowded; this however has been remedied in recent years with new circuits being developed and new parks being founded resulting in the pressure being taken off certain hotspots. Kenya as an African holiday and safari destination has a huge amount to see and is perfect for fly camping, horseback safaris, walking safaris, family safaris and much, much more...
What to expect: Kenya is a beautiful African holiday destination with much to offer however please bear in mind that infrastructure and service quality may not always be up to demanding western standards.
