Day 01                     Tiger Tracking Safari, India

Met upon arrival into Delhi and transfer to your hotel to relax prior to the start of your tiger safari...

Day 02         

This morning you will be escorted to the airport in time for your flight to Khajuraho (9W 723; Departing Delhi at 1040 hrs; Arriving Khajuraho at 1220 hrs). You will be met upon arrival and driven to Bandhavgarh National Park (approximately 5 hour drive). Uponn arrival check into the hotel.

Set amidst the Vindhyanchal ranges, the park covers an area of 437 sq. km. and has a series of  ridges running through it. About half the park is covered with fine stands of Sal while mixed forests are found in the higher reaches of the hills. Stretches of bamboo and grasslands are found throughout. The main viewing area is still in the core of the park with its 32 picturesque wooded hills.

There are more than 22 species of mammals and 250 species of birds. Common langurs and rhesus macaque represent the primate group. Carnivores include the Asiatic Jackal, Bengal Fox, Sloth Bear, Ratel, Grey Mongoose, Striped Hyena, Jungle Cat, Leopard and of course the most famous of all the Royal Bengal Tiger. The other animals spotted in the park are Wild Boar, Spotted Deer, Sambhar, Nilgai, Chinkara and Gaur. The vegetation along streams and marshes is rich in bird-life. The common ones are little Grebe, Egret, Lesser Adjutant, Sarus Crane, Black Ibis, Lesser Whistling Teal, White-eyed Buzzard, Black Kite, Crested Serpent Eagle, Black Vulture, Egyptian Vulture, Common Peafowl, Red Jungle Fowl, Dove, Parakeet, Kingfisher and Indian Roller. Reptilian fauna include Cobra, Krait, Viper, Rat snake, Python, Turtle and a number of lizard species.

Day 03           

Your first full day of tiger tracking. You set off early into the park in search of the majestic tiger... A variety of other wildlife can be sRoyal Bengal Tiger, Indiapotted along the way including sloth bears, leopard, a variety of birdlife and also spotted deer which form the principal prey base of the tiger. At midday you return to your lodge to rest and have a relaxing lunch...this afternoon you set off once again into the park...

Day 04                   

Another early morning game drive this morning prior to continuing on your journey to Kanha National Park (approx 6hrs).

Kanha is one of the largest National Parks in India extending over 1945 sq. km. of undulating country, which includes a core area of 940 sqkm. Kanha has some 22 species of mammals.  A variety of these include sotted deer, sloth bears, leopard, Indian Bison, wild dog and of course tigers...

Arriving in the late afternoon you will have a chance to relax after your drive and enjoy the comfort of your camp. Shergah Tented Camp is located on the less busy side of Kanha National Park and therefore affords a tranquility that is not found in other areas and provides quicker access into the park in the morning.

Day 05                     

Your first day in and around Kanha National Park. A stunning park much larger than Bandhvgarh providing the perfect habitat for the tiger with an abundance of prey. Kanha provides some spectacular vistas and wonderful photographic opportunities. Returning to Shergah at lunch you have a few hours to relax during the heat of the day prior to setting out again this afternoon in search of the elusive Bengal Tiger...

Day 06                       

Your second full day to explore Kanha National Park. The focus is on finding and tracking tigers however there is much more to see along the way with one of the highlights being stumbling across the shy and retiring sloth bears that tumble their way through the forest. Tiger sightings are always announced at the park headquarters so this is always worth a visit as you may want to take part in the "tigAsiatic Leoparder show". Please note however this often involves queing for some time with very brief glimpses of the tiger...

Day 07                       

After a morning game drive and breakfast, you will depart for Pench National Park (approximately 5 hour 30 minute drive).

Pench National Park is nestled in the lower southern reaches of the Satpura hills; the park is named after Pench River which flows from North to South through the National Park and covers a total of 760 sq kilometres of land. With a core area of 292 sq kilometres, it is a mix of moist deciduous and dry deciduous teak forest. Various water streams cross the forest with The Pench Reservoir at the centre of the park being the main water source. The main flora of the park includes teak. Bamboo occurs sparsely restricted to some valleys. Main fauna includes: Tiger, Leopard, Jungle Cat, Leopard Cat, Striped Hynaes, Wild Dog, Wolf, Jackals, Sloth Bear, Pangolin, Mongoose, Wild Boar, Gaur, Blue Bull, Spotted Deer, Sambar, Barking Deer, Porcupine etc. The reptiles include: Fresh Water crocodiles, Indian Chameleon, Common Krait, Indian Rock Python, Cobra, Indian Flap Shell turtle, Peninsular Black turtle etc. Fish include: Padhan, Jhunda, Sanbal, Chalar, Dadai. Mahur, Kunda, Mrigal, Rohu, Calbasu, and Mahasir etc.

Overnight: Pench Jungle Camp – Cottages (B/L/D)

Day 08           

Your first game drive in the park this morning. Pench is a lovely park with a natural feeling to it. Picturesque landscapes make this a highlight with the added bonus of being able to see tigers as well. Midday is spent relaxing back at your Camp prior to setting out again this afternoon tiger tracking...

Overnight: Pench  JuTiger Stalking, Bandhavgarh, Indiangle Camp – Cottages (B/L/D)

Day 09                   

After a morning game drive and breakfast, you will be driven to Nagpur to board flight to Mumbai (S2 116 departing Nagpur at 1930 hrs / arrival Mumbai at 2050 hrs).  Upon arrival you will be met and transferred to the hotel.

Today you will be driven to the airport in time for your international flight back home (B)
