Flame of the Forest

Named after the native Indian tree, Flame of the Forest, which bursts into bright orange and vermilion flowers in the summer months, is a beautiful, socially and environmentally aware boutique lodge. Located right next to the Banjaar River, this unique lodge provides a secluded privacy with stunning views over the river and into the jungles beyond. Located in great proximity to Kanha National Park, so fantastic for a jungle adventure in search of a magnificent tiger!

Style: An intimate, stylish and beautiful lodge, guest cottages are spacious and beautifully decorated.

Setting: The closest lodge to Kisli Gate (the main entrance to Kanha National Park) and right next to the Banjaar River where wildlife such as monkeys, water birds and deer come to drink.

Accommodation & Facilities: The 4 luxury cottages have big double doors opening out onto private verandas with stunning views over the river. They are all en-suite, featuring twin basins and an outdoor bath. Cottages are airy and feature works from young local artists on the walls, each picture is available for sale after it has served a certain length of time on the wall. Access to each cottage is via private patio, with a shaded seating area ideal for long breakfasts and relaxing.

The cottages are all connected to the main area via an array of intricate passageways and bridges looking out over the river. The lodge is built from traditional mud and thatch and includes lots of handcrafted woodwork.

Dining: Lunch and dinner are usually Indian and can be served in a variety of locations, out in the bush, on the riverbed or in the elegant dining hall. Breakfasts are a mixture of Indian and continental foods and are usually taken with you on the road as drives are done quite early in the morning. The food is amazing and very satisfying, even for the most ferocious appetite!

Activities: There are both morning and afternoon wildlife safaris to Kanha National Park, culture walks through the village and nature walks, all done with your knowledgeable and experienced guide. In the lodge there is also and Ajurveda spa, safari shop, library and yoga with a view!

Child Policy: Children welcome but no facilities
