Classic Botswana Camping Safari

Classic Botswana Safari - A Small Group Camping Safari from £1,665 per Person, Excluding International Flights

Day 1
On arrival into Maun Airport you will be met and shown to your onward flight to the Xakanaka airstrip. Your flight will take you over theCurious Elephant renowned Okavango Delta; this will be your first view of the areas you will be exploring over the next few days. You will be met by your guide at Xakanaka and transfer to your camp. If time permits you may be able to go on your first game drive!
Overnight: Camping in large tented accommodation with en-suite facilities (B/L/D)

Days 2, 3
A series of game drives by 4x4 and boat trips are possible over the course of the next few days. This area, also known as Moremi Reserve, is renowned for its spectacular game viewing. There are surprises around each and every corner; herds of buffalo, a vast array of antelope and numerous predators make for exciting game drives! Moremi is also one of the best areas in the Okavango Delta for spotting the elusive wild dogs.

Day 4
Today you will be driven to the Khwai area of the Delta (approx 3-4hrs drive). The Manuchira Channel is known as the Khwai River at its eastern-most extremity. The day’s journey follows this water course, with the track weaving from the riverside and floodplains into the mopane veld and the woodlands that make Khwai one of the most scenic areas of the Okavango. You will pass the magnificent Dombo Hippo Pools in the morning where you will stop to enjoy the scenery and the antics of the resident hippo. Leopard, cheetah, serval and wild dogs are resident in this area and if you are lucky, you may be able to spot them along our journey.

Days 5, 6
Over the course of the next few days you will spend your time between the dryland habitats of the lead-wood and camel-thorn woodlands, and the savannahs and the riverside and marshy back-waters of the Khwai. Time permitting; you may be able to visit the laLeopard on a Big Cat Safari in Botswana goons and waterways of Xakanaxa where the largest heronry in southern Africa exists. There is excellent predator viewing in this area as well as fantastic bird viewing including the rosy throated long claw. 4x4 game drives, walking safaris and night drives are all on the agenda over the course of these days.

Day 7
After breakfast you will be driven to the airstrip with a game drive on route. Here you will be met by your charter flight back to Maun.

Why not add an extension to visit the Victoria Falls just over the border in Zambia? Or possibly a safari to incredible South Luangwa Valley? Or even a beach extension to the white sandy beaches of Mozambique orAccommodation Zanzibar!
