Style: A remote, luxury tented camp.
Setting: Shinde Camp is situated on a lush palm dotted island in the middle of the northern Okavango Delta. Located at the edge of a lagoon, it is surrounded by clear waterways which flow over sand and past palm-fringed islands. Due to the remoteness of the island, the waterways here teem with birdlife and game; a real delight, particularly for keen photographers.
Accommodation & facilities: Shinde Camp’s eight luxury safari style tents have views across the wildlife rich floodplain and lagoon. These private, deluxe tents include twin beds, en-suite bathrooms with hot and cold running water, showers and flush toilets. Decorated in rich, colourful textiles, each tent has a private viewing deck, offering incredible views of the surrounding grassland and delta.
Shinde Camp also boasts a secluded honeymoon tent and a private camp available for small groups or families, complete with a dining area, lounge and bar.
Facilities include a fire-pit area and multi-tiered ‘tree house’ style dining area, making meal times here a really special experience.
Dining: This full-service tented camp provides great cuisine with a selection of mainly South African wines.
Activities: Day and night-time game drives operate in 4x4 vehicles, with guided bush walks also on offer. With year round water based activities available, Shinde Camp is a great base for mokoro (dugout canoe) excursions, boat trips and fishing.
Child policy: Children under 10 years old are not permitted at Shinde Camp.
