Savuti Camp, Linyanti Concession

Savuti Camp

This small and private camp is located in a remote and magical area of Botswana, consisting of swamp, grasslands and sandy plains. The Savuti Linyanti is the site of an annual zebra migration and offers superb game viewing. With several hides near the camp, guests benefit from exclusive and close-up wildlife viewing.

After being dry for 28 years, the Savute Channel once more became a waterway in 2008 and abundant wildlife returned. It has since become an unrivalled food and water source; Savuti Camp guests have exclusive access to the abundant game and natural changes that occur here on a daily and seasonal basis.

Style: An intimate camp, Savuti is part of the Wilderness Safaris collection.

Setting: Located in northern Botswana, Savuti Camp is situated in an isolated part of the Linyanti Concession along the Savute Channel. Around 17 kilometres upstream is the Zibadianja Lagoon - the source of the wildlife rich Savute Channel.

Accommodation & facilities: This intimate camp's en-suite accommodation is in nine walk-in tents, raised off the ground on wooden platforms. Shaded by mangosteen, ebony and fig trees, each large tent has an indoor shower and expansive views of the Savute Channel.

From the camp's thatched dining area, a plunge pool, large viewing area and fire pit extend outwards on raised teak decks - the perfect place to spend your afternoons cooling off in the plunge pool or enjoying sundowners whilst watching the wildlife of the Savute Channel.

The camp has been built using locally sourced materials and is beautifuuly decorated with traditional Botswana basketwork and local artefacts.

Dining: Delicious food is prepared in traditional African pots on the open fire and served with a sweeping view of the magnificent channel. Most drinks are included.

Activities: Day and night game drives operate  in 4x4 vehicles. Guided nature walks are available on request.

Nearby hides are well-positioned for safe, up-close animal viewing; Savuti Camp's former 'wood-pile hide' in front of the camp is famous for spectacular elephant viewing in the drier winter months.

Child policy: Children of 8 years old and over are welcome. A private vehicle may need to be hired.
