Kings Pool Camp, Linyanti Reserve

Kings Pool Camp

Named after a Scandinavian monarch, who once camped on the banks of the nearby crescent shaped lagoon, Kings Pool Camp is truly luxurious. Accommodating up to 18 guests, each tent is complete with a private lounge area, secluded sun-deck and personal plunge-pool. The communal dining area overlooks waterways filled with hippo and herds of elephant - and all this before you've even left camp!

  • 9 luxury tents
  • Swimming pool
  • Children over 8 years welcome
  • Great for bird-watching

Style: A luxurious tented camp. King’s Pool is part of the Wilderness Safaris collection.

Setting: In northern Botswana, Kings Pool Camp is found in the Linyanti Reserve - a vast, private concession on the western boundary of Chobe National Park. The camp overlooks the Linyanti River and oxbow-shaped Kings Pool Lagoon, which attracts massive herds of elephant during the dry season.

Accommodation & facilities: The nine spacious tents are set on raised wooden decking, affording fantastic views over the lagoon.  Each canvas tent has its own private plunge pool, complete with sun loungers and a sala (terrace) for afternoon siestas. The huge four-poster beds have soft linen sheets and generously draped mosquito nets. Luxurious en-suite bathrooms include twin basins and both indoor and outdoor showers.

The bar, lounge and dining areas face out on to the hippo filled lagoon - a great place to congregate after the day’s activities. King’s Pool Camp also has a swimming pool, for cooling off from the hot afternoon sun.

Dining: Wonderful food served inside or outdoors. Most drinks are included.

Activities: Day and night-time game drives and walks are available. When water levels are sufficiently high, boat cruises along the Linyanti River offer spectacular viewing; the reed and papyrus swamps here are ideal for a diverse species of birds and are a magnet for game in the dry winter months.

Child policy: Children over 8 years old are welcome. Private vehicles may need to be booked.
