Accommodation & facilities: The luxury tents sit on raised wooden platforms affording great views across the delta. Tents are shaded by a traditional African roof and each has a private deck, furnished with hammocks - ideal for viewing wildlife or enjoying an intimate dinner. Each tent is luxuriously appointed with an en-suite bathroom, privately stocked mini bar, four-poster bed with generous mosquito net and discreet air conditioning.

A satellite TV is located discreetly away from main lounge and internet access is available at the camp. Eagle Island also has a curio shop, reference library, laundry service and internal telephone system.

Dining: Delicious meals are served alfresco, overlooking the stunning lagoon, or can be taken on each tent’s private deck. After-dinner drinks can be taken at the exclusive Fish Eagle Bar or seated around the camp fire.

Activities: The emphasis at Eagle Island is on water-based safaris, exploring the endless waterways in mokoros (dugout canoes) or motorboats. Walking safaris on the surrounding islands are offered and 4x4 drives are available when the water levels permit, from November to March.

Child policy: Children over 8 years old are welcome. Private vehicles may need to be booked.
