Accommodation during your snow leopard safari is basic due to the remoteness of the area where the snow leopards live, however they offer access to some amazing wildlife viewing. Accommodation is in a mixture of tented camps and local home stays giving the visitor a chance to get to know more about the local way of life in Ladakh.

Camping is generally done in the more remote areas and consists of dome tents and shared camp toilets and showers. There is a mess tent where meals will be eaten by the group.

Home stays will be used in some of the region’s towns and villages and vary in standard.

Please  note that accommodation throughout is of a basic standard. This region is extremely remote and therefore the provisions of supplies and western standards of comfort is very limited. This safari is for the hardy traveller that is in Ladakh principally to catch a rare glimpse of the elusive snow leopard rather than to enjoy the creature comforts of 5 satr travel.
